The way you engage situations can really affect the results.

If you engage a situation with an aggressive attitude then you will most likely receive results that you do not desire. But, if you come in with an open-mind and calm attitude then you will have a much higher chance of receiving the desired feedback. The reason why this is so is because aggressiveness tends to activate the portion of our brain that makes us defend ourselves. The same way you feel when you encounter a dangerous animal is the same way you will feel when having an argument with someone. Being in this state of mind makes us more likely to think in one direction and usually gets us nowhere. Unfortunately, our brains still have the old survival operating system that we don't need anymore. So is there anything we can do about it? Definitely. Simply by being aware of this we can change the way we respond and engage situations. If you are the receiver of the aggressiveness try to understand that by responding with the same aggressiveness you will cause more problems than solutions.  This can be applied to almost any situations. I’m sure you were probably thinking of your own situation while reading this.
